How to get more productive work done in the same 24 hours

Working from Home? Here are some tips to not get Tired.

Now in this time of crisis, All of us are dealing with some kind of uncertainty be it educational related or business related. On top of that those of us who are working from home are a little more stressed and experience fatigue more due to various factors, its unexpected work or long sessions of video conferencing it all adds up to the already giant heap of stress. To tackle work from home fatigue here are some tips to your rescue:

1. Set A Scheduled Time For Your Work

Although you are working from hoe that doesn't mean that you should take it for granted. Yes you can work while sitting on your couch but you won't be as productive as you would be while you are at your desk. This will result in low quality work and often missed deadlines. Instead you should stick to our regular office work hours, yeah some modifications can be done but get as close as possible to your regular work schedule this will keep you motivated and focused while keeping anxiety away.

2. Maintain A Proper Posture While On A Video Conferencing

This is very important as usually we tend to slouch and bend while working on our computers, but when video conferencing, this might become an issue over time because while we are working on our computers we often get up and stretch and get our good posture back, but when video conferencing we slouch and sit there for a long time maybe an hour or two. This is very harmful for our spine and neck and will cause long term unbearable pain over time and will lead to some serious issues. So strictly maintain your posture while video conferencing and if possible make a DIY stand to keep your laptop to eye level.

3. Set Limitations On Distractions

Its often very difficult to stay focused when you are just one click away from Netflix or a meter away from your cozy couch. While it's natural to fall back onto those leisure but it might cause you a huge loss due to late work submissions or missed meeting. So try to limit distractions while you are trying to focus. Here are some things you can do to get away with distractions:
  • Put up a "Do Not Disturb" sign outside while you are working or tell your family not to disturb you.
  • Keep your phone our of reach if possible so as to avoid any distractions from Social media, and other things.
  • While you are working try and get immersed in the work, If there are any disturbing background noises try putting on a pair of headphones with some Work-Beat music(especially without lyrics) is playing

4. Set A Work End Time

While we are trying to get something done we often tend to pull it into our personal lives and mix everything which is not good. We try to complete the task in hand so importantly that we end up taking away our family time for work. This instead of relieving workload creates more stress as you will have a new task and in rush of finishing work you'll end up killing quality and relaxing time spent with your family. So set a time when you get off your desk or workspace and refresh your mind.

5. Stay Away From Screens When Possible

This is very important. As of now most of our work is done through screens be it video conferencing or making some form of reports or files, we are locked to our screens, which is quite exhausting as backlit screens are harmful for eyes as well as our sleep and hence our health. Working on screens for a long time has its side effect so when ever you can try to get off screen.
